Setting options for Check for Message |

In the Tools menu,
click Options-
In the General tab, under Send/Receive Messages,
click the Check for new messages check box -
In the
field, type the number of minutes to indicate how
often to check for new messages -
To check for new
messages when you start Outlook Express, check the
Send and receive messages at startup check box -
To
play a sound when a new message arrives, check the
Play sound when new messages arrive check box -
Click OK

To change the width of a column, click a column
border and drag it to the left or right -
To
change the order of the columns, click a column
heading, then drag it to its new location -
To hide
or display columns, right-click the column headings,
then click
Column.
Check and uncheck column, then click
OK -
To sort
the mail list, click the column heading

To open
a message window, double-click the message in the
list

To open
an attachment from the Preview pane, click the
paperclip, then click the attachment

To open
an attachment from the message window, double-click

To send
a response only to the person who sent the message,

Reply

To send
your response to everyone who received the message,
click
Reply
All

To send
the message to someone else who didn't receive it,

Creating a mail folder |

Right-click the
Folder List
-
In the context menu,
click New Folder
-
In the Create Folder
dialog box, type the name of the new folder in the
Folder Name field

In the folder tree,
click the folder in which to place the new folder
-
Click
OK

Moving,
copying, and deleting message |

To move
a message to another folder, click the message in
the mail list, then drag it to the folder

To copy
a message, hold down the
Ctrl
key as you drag it to another folder

To
delete a message, click the
Delete
button or drag the message to the
Deleted
Items
folder

Check the Empty message
from 'Deleted Items' on exit check box
