Displaying the Control Panel
  • In the Start menu, click Control Panel

Opening the Mouse Properties dialog box
  • From the Control Panel, double-click the Mouse icon

Configuring your mouse buttons

  • In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click the Buttons tab

  • Under Button Configuration, click the Switch primary and secondary check box to switch the mouse buttons to the left-handed configuration

  • Under Double-click speed, use the slider bar to increase or decrease the space between clicks for a double-click

  • Under ClickLock, click the Turn on ClickLock check box to enable you to highlight or drag without having to hold down the mouse

  • Click Apply or OK

Changing mouse pointers

  • In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click the Pointers tab

  • In the Scheme drop-down list, click a scheme

  • To change an individual pointer within a scheme, click the pointer, then click Browse to begin searching for another pointer

  • To return a pointer to its default value, click the pointer, then click Use Default

  • Click Apply or OK

Customizing the mouse speed

  • In the Mouse Properties dialog box, click the Pointer Options tab

  • Use the Speed slide to adjust the mouse speed

  • Select a mouse acceleration

  • Click Apply or OK

Displaying the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog box

  • In the Control Panel, double-click the Sounds and Audio Devices icon

 

Displaying the Accessibility Options dialog box
  • In the Control Panel, double-click the Accessibility Options icon

 

Setting Keyboard Accessibility Options
  • Click the Keyboard tab on the Accessibility Options dialog box

  • Check Use StickKeys to be able to press the Ctrl, Alt, Shift, and Windows logo keys separately instead of simultaneously

  • Check Use FilterKeys to be able to prevent unintended repeat characters

  • Check Use ToggleKeys to hear a sound every time you press the Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock keys

  • For each option, click the Settings button to customize the option
