Assigning sounds to events
  • Click Start, then click Control Panel

  • Double-click Sounds and Audio Devices

  • In the Sounds tab, use the drop-down list under Sound Scheme to select the desired scheme

  • In the list under Program Events, select the event for which to change the associated sound

  • Change the sound associated with the program event by selecting the desired sound from the Sounds drop-down list

Using Sound Recorder
  • Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, Entertainment, Sound Recorder

  • Click the Start button to start recording

  • Click Stop button to stop recording

  • Click Play button to play the recording

Inserting a sound file over an existing recording

  • Open Sound Recorder to an existing recording

  • Drag the slider to where you want to insert the new sound file

  • Click Edit, then click Insert File...

  • Click the sound file you want to insert, then click Open to add the sound to the existing recording

Starting CD Player

  • In the Start menu, click All Programs

  • In the All Programs menu, click Accessories

  • In the Accessories submenu, click Entertainment

  • In the Entertainment submenu, click CD Player

Changing to Tiny View

  • Click the button next to the Close button

Using the Taskbar icon
  • Click the Options button

  • In the Preferences dialog box, click the Player Options tab

  • Check the Show Control on Taskbar check box

  • Click OK

  • To run CD Player, click the icon

  • To display a context menu of options, right-click the icon

Changing CD Player's playback mode
  • Click the Mode button

  • In the drop-down list, click Mode

  • When in Preview mode, click the Play button to play the entire track

Displaying the Playlist tab
  • Click the Options button

  • In the Preferences dialog box, click the Playlist tab
