Using the Add Printer Wizard to connect to a network
printer |

In the Start menu,
click Printers and Faxes-
In the left pane of the Printers and Faxes window,
click the Add a Printer
link -
Click radio button next to Network
Printer -
Type the name of the printer you wish
to connect to, or Browse to find it

Sharing your printer |
-
In the Start menu, click
Printers and Faxes -
Click
the icon for the printer you wish to share -
In the
File menu, click
Sharing... -
In the
Sharing tab, click the Sharing this printer
radio button, then type a friendly name so that
others can easily identify the printer. Click
OK
when done

Changing
the Printing Preferences |

In the
Start menu, click Printers
and Faxes

Click
the printer whose preferences you want to change

In the
File menu, click Printing
Preferences

Click
the Layout or
Paper/Quality tab

Click
the appropriate button to change Orientation, Page
Order, Pages Per Sheet, Paper Source, Media, Quality
Settings, or Color

the printer whose properties you want to change

Properties

In the
Properties dialog box, click the
Advanced
tab

Click
the appropriate button to change Availability times,
Priority, Spooling, and to print a Separator Page
between print jobs

Previewing a font |

In the Start menu, click
Control Panel

Double-click the
Fonts folder
-
Double-click the font
you want to preview
|
Using the Character Map |

Click
Start,
All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Character
Map
-
From the
Fonts drop-down list, select a font
-
Double-click the desired character(s)
-
Click
Copy
-
Open the
document you want to copy into
-
In the
Edit menu, click
Paste
|
Installing New Fonts |

In the Start menu, click
Control Panel -
Double-click the Fonts
folder -
In the Edit menu, click
Install New Font... -
Navigate to the folder with the fonts you wish to
install -
Click the font(s) you want to add -
Click OK

Deleting fonts |

In the
Start menu, click
Control
Panel
-
Double-click the
Fonts
folder
-
Right-click the font you want
to delete
-
Click
Delete
-
Click
Yes
at the Alert message
